Mel and John's Vintage-Inspired Wedding at Bridle Oaks
Nestled in the heart of DeLand, FL, Bridle Oaks Venue provided the perfect setting for Mel and John's wedding on January 15, 2022. This unique rustic venue, surrounded by lush ferns, forests, and friendly goats, set the stage for their unforgettable day. The cool January air was filled with excitement as Cloudless Sulphur Floral's stunning arrangements complimented the couple's vintage and unique style.
A Day to Remember:
The day began with a cool, crisp January air enveloping Bridle Oaks, a venue that blends rustic charm with the natural beauty of Florida. The property, abundant with ferns and forests, welcomed guests with its quaint ambiance and furry inhabitants. Bridle Oaks isn't just a venue; it's an experience where nature meets elegance.
First Look and Gift Exchange:
The first look took place in front of Bridle Oaks' charming little cottage, adding a fairy-tale-like backdrop to an already magical moment. John surprised Mel with a song he wrote, encapsulating their journey together, accompanied by a heartwarming home video. Mel, in return, presented a handcrafted book filled with John’s family recipes, symbolizing their future of making memories in the kitchen. This exchange was not just a swapping of gifts but a profound testament to their deep connection and shared life ahead.
The Ceremony:
Catherine from The Ginger Officiant led a ceremony that was as personal as it was touching. Opting for a Handfasting ceremony, Mel and John physically and symbolically united their lives. In the presence of their loved ones, they shared vows that were as unique as their love, echoing through the tranquil surroundings of Bridle Oaks.
Bridal Party Fun and Photos:
Post-ceremony, the bridal party, a mix of friends irrespective of gender on each side, added a modern and inclusive touch. Dressed in blush and terracotta, the bridesmaids complemented the gents in felt suits. Their fun and hardcore photo session mirrored the joy and excitement of the day.
Newlywed Portraits:
Mel and John's newlywed portraits were a wanderlust through Bridle Oaks' lush property. The surrounding ferns provided a dreamy, Twilight-esque setting, perfectly aligning with Mel's vision and love for the series Twilight. The natural scenery of Bridle Oaks offered an enchanting backdrop, making their photos not just images but memories captured in time.
Reception Decor and Highlights:
The reception, held in Bridle Oaks' rustic-like space, radiated warmth and coziness, accentuating their vintage-inspired decor. Interestingly, a year later, John and Mel initiated Rosearden Rentals, a wedding rental company. The reception was sprinkled with unique elements like personalized temporary tattoos featuring their faces and their cats, and a tapestry with their last name, Moreno made by Oxford Pennant. The Naked Cupcake dessert truck provided a delightful twist to the traditional cake cutting, with the couple slicing through a cupcake with an monogram etched dagger. A playful and fun Mario Kart Competition between Mel & John added a lighthearted test to their new roles as life partners.
Mel and John's wedding at Bridle Oaks was not just an event; it was a celebration of love, individuality, and the joy of togetherness. Every detail, from the serene setting of Bridle Oaks to the personal touches in decor and ceremonies, made their wedding a beautiful start to their forever.
